MICA start-to-finish and the standard 3–4 day dry-out. Field process by Daniel Trennepohl, Director of Mitigation.
The dry-in-place versus remove decision, material by material, with what to document so the call holds up in review — and the question the homeowner will actually ask you about it. Readings make the call. This tells you which readings and where.
Work the Michaelis lead sheet on the phone and this reads the job back to you: a pressure tier, a drying-day window, an equipment range, and — the part that saves the job — the gates that have to clear before equipment goes in the door. Tier comes from the loss variables. Gates come from the lead-sheet answers. It is a planning read, not a quote; the sketch and the readings set the real scope.

The same job, told from the other side of the door. Most homeowners deal with a serious water loss once in their lives, and they arrive coached — consumer resources hand them a contractor checklist and a list of warning signs before we ever knock. Every stage below pairs what they are actually dealing with against what we do about it, and what they hold in their hands when we leave.
Not a recruiting brochure version. This is the shape of a normal day with one new loss and a monitoring route.
Six stages from day one to the point where you pick a direction. The ladder itself follows below.
Consumer guides publish the behavior that makes homeowners regret a contractor. Left column is what they were warned about. Right column is the standard that answers it.
Homeowners are told to keep their own copy of everything. Where their folder and our file overlap, ours should be the more complete one.
Every rung, with the gate you clear to reach it. Each grade shows what you own, the certifications and licenses to earn, how you are measured, and the gate you must clear to climb. Because Michaelis is IICRC-certified and a full-service general contractor, the ladder runs from the drying floor to the Marion County GC license to the branch P&L. Credentials reflect the real IICRC, Verisk / Xactimate, RIA, OSHA / EPA, and Indianapolis licensing ladders.
Time-in-seat is typical, not a rule.
Certifications here are not wall decoration. Each one changes what you are allowed to decide on a site without calling anybody.
Neither column is a wish list. If we are not holding up the right side, say so to your lead.
None of this is a perk. It is what the work requires to be done to standard.
Short, role-based lessons distilled from the official Proven Jobs guides — with how Michaelis actually runs a file baked in. Finish a lesson by passing its knowledge check.
